Cathedral of Le\u00f3n<\/strong>, also known as the <strong>Basilica Catedral de Santa Mar\u00eda de Regla<\/strong> is an impressive monument, in Gothic style, located in the centre of the city of Le\u00f3n. It is one of the city&#8217;s most prominent buildings and a popular tourist destination for both national and international visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"History_of_the_Cathedral_of_Santa_Maria_de_Regla_de_Leon\"><\/span>History of the Cathedral of Santa Mar\u00eda de Regla de Le\u00f3n<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The construction of Le\u00f3n Cathedral began in the <strong>13th century.<\/strong> The first stone was laid in 1205 and completed in 1302. It is a large circular window located on the western fa\u00e7ade of the Cathedral. Inside the cathedral, visitors can admire the numerous chapels and altars, as well as the <strong>impressive central nave<\/strong>, which is 30 metres high and <strong>90 metres long in total.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has high Gothic arches, side chapels and numerous sculptures and objets d&#8217;art.
